This is a small coaster that I designed years ago, in 1981. Years later I tatted it again, as an illustration for course material. This is a doily that you can work with one shuttle only. The coaster's centre features a needle lace filling, often seen in 19th century tatting. This doily also contains an example of the so-called net stitch, or mignonette tatting.
