The Monster Project - Part 3

(Previous Episode - The Monster Project - Part 2)

This time, again a slightly larger version of the monster project. Last time, I said the name would be something like Queen of Hearts. Slowly it becomes clear why. More or less, the shape of the hearts that make up the lace starts to show.

End of February/start of March 2008 I was in Paris for a couple of days. There, I visited the Sacré Coeur. Especially this church's glass-in-lead windows reminded my of the motifs I use in the monster project. This, and the fact that coeur is French for heart made it very easy to choose a final name. So, the doily is going to be called: Sacré Coeur!

This time again a picture of one of this doily's parts. I need to tat twenty-four of these in total. That's gonna be tough (boring! boring!).

Like I said in the first episode, and the way things looked last year (2007), it would take me until mid 2010 to finish this piece. I started tatting mid 2006. That means that the first half of this doily should be ready by mid 2008. But things are different now. I finished the first half already in January 2008. At this moment (April 2008) I am well past that point.

Well, that's it for now. Next time I'll show you some design prototypes for this doily. See you then!
