(Previous Episode - The Monster Project - Part 4)
Almost ready now. I am finalizing the last heart at the moment. All parts have been assembled. Below, a picture, complete with lots of errors, almost invisible, but visible enough that I need to address each and everyone of them.
After correction of the errors, the doily needs washing. It has been in production for slightly over 3 years. The beginning has changed colour because of sunlight and dirt. The last and newest part is still bright white. In between, the colour fades from white to a dirty ecrú. I hope I can get it all evenly white, and the center must not shrink at a different rate than the lace. My wife has got to help me!
Finally, stretching and blocking. It needs stretching because of the mignonette parts. I will need a large piece of board for this one. The diameter of the doily is probably going to be over 15 inches.
Next time, the end result. See you then!
